Most of the affected staff according sources are production who have been reduced from 35 to just 12, but sales, DTH and MCR are all affected in the latest media melt down of staff.

Laid off staff whose contracts will expire in March 2019 will receive salaries due them for the remainder of their tenure. This means, they would be paid from now till March 2019 though they are not expected to report to the office from Monday December 17.

Some aggrieved staff are threatening legal action due to their inability to reach an agreement with the company for a severance package.

A staff who spoke to GhanaCrusader on condition of anonymity said “they took a unilateral decision without negotiating with some of us for our severance package. I have spoken to a lawyer to help me get justice through the labour commission.

“I have been here since they were Viasat and I feel it is unfair to be treated this way.

“That’s all I can say for now,” the source concluded.
