After bagging a brace last weekend, Richmond Boakye registered his name on the score sheet once again by getting the all important equalizer for Red Star Belgrade in a 1-1 stalemate against fellow giants Partizan Belgrade in the Serbian Superliga on Sunday.
This is a game that dominates the whole of Serbia. Both teams have their stadia 12 minutes apart in the Autokomanda suburb of the capital, Belgrade.
Ricardo Gomes opened the scoring for Partizan in the 33rd minute of the “Eternal derby”.
He pounced on a wrong pass and hit it past Red Star goalkeeper Borjan to give his side the deserved lead.
Red Star Belgrade got themselves back in the game through Richmond Boakye Yiadom.
The 25 year old striker found the back of the net in the 73rd minute after nodding home from close range assisted by former Chelsea player Marko Marin.
The Ghana international’s third goal of the season puts him 3rd on the top Scorers chat behind Napredak player Vukanovic and Radnicki Nis player Stanisavljevic who have 5 and 4 goals respectively.
The point earned keeps Red Star Belgrade two points above rivals Partizan, who are third on goal difference having played a game more.
