Black Queens: The Hunt for Bashir Hayford’s Successor Has Begun

It’s been over four months since Ghana hosted the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of nations with Bashir Hayford leading the Ghana female national team. But several months after the tournament, it looks like the former Asante Kotoko coach will not continue as the gaffer of the Black Queens.

Ghana Football Association Normalisation Committee (NC) has began the search for a new coach for the Black Queens according to Naa Odofoley Nortey who is a member of the committee.

In an interview with Happy FM, Naa Odofoley said: “As for now, no one has been appointed as the Black Queens head coach. But I am sure in the coming weeks an announcement will be made”.

All indications points to the fact that Bashiru Hayford will no longer be the coach of the team with wild  reports emerging that he is set to be named the new technical director of the Somalia Football Federation.

Black Queens will soon resume business when they begin their defence of  the WAFU B Women’s championship in Cote D’Ivoire in the coming months.A substantive coach will soon be named.
