KRC Genk youngster Joseph Paintsil says he is eyeing a big performance from his colleagues when the Black Meteors come up against Gabon on Saturday in the U-23 Africa Cup of nations qualifier at the Accra sports stadium on Saturday.
According to the former Tema Youth midfielder, he is expecting the entire team to turn up for the nation and ensure that what they were invited to come and execute is accomplished in style.
Paintsil,21, is part of a host of foreign based players invited to aid the Black Meteors in a bid to qualify for the Olympics games which has eluded Ghana for 15 years.The last time Ghana qualified to the Olympics was in 2004.
“We are here to do our maximum best for the nation.We can’t afford to put a foot wrong on Saturday.We will make sure we entertain the teaming fans and Ghanaians in whole“.He told Ghanacrusader.com
Paintsil has played for almost every national team except the senior national team the Black Stars and could be looking to use this opportunity to set the tone for a possible senior call-up ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of nations in Egypt.
The Meteors will be up against Gabon on Saturday March 23 at the Accra Sports stadium ,that game will serve as a curtain raiser for the Black Stars Afcon 2019 qualifier against Kenya.
