German second tier side Paderborn have confirmed that Bernard Tekpertey has been invited to the Black Meteors for the U-23 Africa Nations cup qualifier against Gabon on March 23.
The striker joins a host of foreign based players invited by Ibrahim Tanko and Michael Osei for the double header against Gabon. Tekpertey is part of three players at the Club to have earned invitations for national assignment.
The 21-year-old is expected to link up with his other colleagues in the Ghana U23 camp on Monday as they step up preparations ahead of March 23rd’s big clash.
“We are very pleased with the nominations of our players for national teams of their home countries and all three players have earned this recognition with strong performances in the SCP07 jersey and we wish them good luck for the international matches and hope that they return safely to Paderborn ” Markus Krösche, Paderborn’s Managing Director emphasizes.
The former Schalke man received his first Ghana U23 call-up despite featuring for the for the senior national team at the 2017 edition of the Africa Cup of Nation.The number of foreign based players for the Gabon game is now 11.
