‘Bernadinho’ Tetteh is confident that more playing time at his current club can help him establish his football career in Belgium.
The 22 year old midfielder has spent a year in Belgium after signing for Westerlo in the Belgium First Division B.
Since signing for the club, playing time has been a challenge for the left-footed midfielder which led to a loan move to First Amateur division side ASV Geel.
GhanaCrusader.com caught up with the former Attram De Visser and Accra Great Olympics player who is currently a fixture for ASV Geel. Here’s what he had to say:
What inspired your decision to play at ASV Geel?
‘Well I had a preseason discussion with my head coach at Westerlo about my future and his plans for me this season and the best solution we could arrive at was a loan move for me to get enough playing time. It is the dream of every player to get enough minutes on the field so basically that’s why I landed at this club.
Why Belgium First Amateur Division?
“I think for you to have more playing time you need to look at a team that gives the opportunity to young players and you’ve got to look at where you can get more playing opportunities. ASV Geel play some amazing football and that suits my style”.
Your team (ASV Geel) didn’t start well this season, losing the first 3 games before finally getting a win in the 4th game, are you worried?
“Yes I think every player would be worried about his team not winning, I have a target for myself but the team’s target is also very key. I want to offer my best to help the team and make a mark here regardless of where I will find myself at the end of the season”.
ASV Geel are currently 10th on the second division league table with 3 points after 4 games.
Osah Bernadinho Tetteh provided an assist in the club’s 2-0 win against Oudenaarde on Sunday.
That’s the club’s first win of the season.
