Asante Kotoko’s journey in this year’s Caf Confederation Cup came to a sudden end after suffering a 2-1 defeat in Zambia to Zesco Unite d on Sunday.
After last weekend’s stalemate with Al Hilal in Kumasi ,going into this encounter the only option for Kotoko was to win the game and nothing else but it looked like Zesco United had ideas of their own.
It was the Porcupine warriors who got their noses in front in the early stages of the second half but that lead was cut short with two sucker punch goals for the home side to turn around the scores.
Several attempts by the Ghanaians to respond proved futile as the Zambians held on to their lead to ensure they nicked the maximum three points on the day.
The result means Nkana and Al Hilal will go through to the next stage of the competition.
