Tema Youth FC Striker, Stephen Appiah Asare could join Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Appiah who is currently training with Asante Kotoko revealed he miss playing competitive football and is therefore eyeing a comeback of football activities in Ghana so he can satisfy his quest, is reported to be a top target for the Porcupine Warriors.
The 20-year-old enjoyed a stellar season with the Tema based Division 1 side before football activities were halted in Ghana due to the famous Anas Aremeyaw Number 12 exposé.
Appiah had scored 8 goals in 14 starts in the Division 1 league including a hat trick plus 2 appearances in the MTN FA cup scoring one out 2 games.
Appiah in an interview with GhanaCrusader.com, said:
“I can’t wait to get back onto the field to play competitive football. I set a target for myself this season and everything was going well as planned (until the exposé forced football activities to be halted).
“As a player, the more you score the more you grow in confidence, so I was enjoying my form at that moment until the unfortunate incident occurred in our football.
Despite staying on the sidelines for a while, the 20 year old still believes he has got what it takes to continue his red hot form should football return anytime soon.
“I believe in what I can do, with hard work everything is possible. As a player you always have to be ready and I believe in the personal training I am doing for now at least to keep me in shape.”
Recently there has been rumours about interest from giant club Kumasi Asante Kotoko, but the youngster was uncertain and chose to be a bit diplomatic about his future.
“Kotoko is a big club in Ghana and if it is the will of God for me to play Kotoko why not? I will embrace it.Let us see what the future holds. In football you cant say never.”
Stephen Appiah joined Tema Youth SC from KFC Samosa in Kumasi and has spent 2 years with the Harbour City boys.
