Deputy captain of the senior national team ,Andre Dede Ayew has stressed on the Black Stars determination to leave the upcoming Africa Cup Of Nations(AFCON) as continental champions.
“We need it,we want it and we will do everything to get it” , Ayew said, stressing the team’s hunger for the AFCON title.
The Fenerbahce midfielder acknowledged the frustrations Ghanaian football fans have endured in the 37-year wait for continental glory with near-misses in 2010 and 2015.
The enthusiastic stand-in skipper highlighted Ghana’s status as one of the heavyweights of African football ,asserting,” Ghana has always been favorites”.
He lauded the team’s attitude in camp, ahead of the AFCON qualifying match with Kenya on Saturday and pledged the Black Stars’ commitment to bringing honor to the nation saying,”the team will do anything possible,to win the cup this year”.
