Former National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan has stated that President Akufo –Addo was too hasty in going to report Kwesi Nyantakyi who was purported to have been indicted in an investigative piece by ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The embattled President of the Ghana Football Association was alleged to have used the President’s name to seal deals not knowing he was being captured in secret video, triggering the President to report the case for investigations to be conducted into the matter.
However, the Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Allotey Jacobs in his submission on Peace FM’s kokrokoo programme also supported Mr Gyan’s assertion by quizzing that is it because the President’s name was mentioned that was the reason he hurriedly reported the incidence to the police .
Allotey Jacobs also maintained that the president should have taken his time before reporting Mr Nyantakyi to authorities.
The Criminal Investigative Division of the Ghana Police Service early on issued a statement confirming they have started investigating the Ghana Football Association’s President, Kwesi Nyantakyi for allegedly using the name of the President to defraud people.
