President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to deliver his third State of the Nation Address (SoNA) on 21 February 2019. The SoNA is in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution.
The schedule for the SoNA is contained in the Business Statement of Parliament for the weeks ahead, which was presented to the house on Friday, 8 February 2019. Security issues are expected to dominate the president’s address.
Mr Akufo-Addo is also expected to tell Ghanaians the progress of his flagship initiatives such as the Free Senior High School (SHS)/double-track system, One District-One Factory (1D1F), One Village-One Dam (1V1D) and $1 million per constituency.
Other policies expected to be addressed are the teacher and nurse trainee allowances and the performance of the economy.
