General Captain of the Black Stars of Ghana, Asamoah Gyan has hinted that the hot weather conditions in Egypt will make the 2019 Cup of Nations very difficult but they will push harder for the ultimate.
Ghana is currently camping in Dubai for their pre-Afcon preparations before finally setting off to Egypt.
The former Captain has cited the weather conditions as one of the few challenges they will face in Egypt.
“The tournament will not be easy and it is longer than before.”
“We will have to play about seven games and it will not be easy. In addition, it will be hot in Egypt in terms of the weather,” Gyan said according to Citisports.
He added that the fans should continue to support the team in any way that they can.
“But we will make sure we push harder. We are about to end our training camp and we will be ready for Egypt. The fans should keep praying for us and hopefully, we will get there and do what we do best.”
Meanwhile 10 players in the Black Stars final squad are set to play in the biennial showpiece for the first time, with two making their competitive debuts for the West Africans at the tournament.
