Turkey based striker Caleb Ekuban powered Ghana to the top of Group F of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a late finish against Kenya at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday. It took the young attacker less than ten minutes to announce his presence with a debut goal that sealed the victory for the Black Stars on the day.
Kwesi Appiah and his charges managed a sweet revenge over the Harambee Stars of Kenya with the reverse fixture ending 1-0 in favour of the East Africans in September 2018. The result means the Black Stars will finish at the apex of Group F with nine points.
It was the first time the Black stars were playing at the Accra Sports stadium since 2016 and they had to announce their return with a win no matter how.
And it was the birthday boy and debutant Caleb Ekuban who got the only goal of the game with a low shot into the bottom corner of the post to ensure that the Ghanaians fans went home with smiles.
