Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris has wished the team the best of lack, as they step up their final preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Majeed, who was left out of the final squad heading to Egypt, put aside his disappointment and sent the team best of wishes message.
“Always proud to represent my country so not the outcome I was hoping for. I wish Ghana well in the AFCON,” he tweeted.
“Time to get a well deserved holidays, refresh and go again for the preseason!” he added.
The FC Nantes attacker was furious on learning his omission from the team and went as far as boycotting a meeting with officials after the release of the team.
Fans too were surprised by the decision, with coach Appiah preferring Asamoah Gyan, Caleb Ekuban, Jordan Ayew and Kwabena Owusu.
Ghana plays their next friendly match against Bafana Bafana, before flying out to Egypt for the start of the tournament.
They are pooled in Group F alongside defending champions Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau, and will be hoping to put their past disappointments aside as they go for a title that has eluded them for over three decades now.
