Abdul Fatawu Safiu has posted an emotional letter to his former club Asante Kotoko following his move to Swedish second tier-club Trelleborg FF.
The attacking midfielder completed his move to the superettan side after spending less than a year with Asante Kotoko.
Fatawu’s contract with Kotoko will expire in 2021 but the Swedish second tier side, however, has the option to trigger a further two-year deal after the expiration of the four-month engagement.
The 25-year old wrote an emotional letter to the management, playing body, technical staff and fans of his former club thanking and wishing them well in the future.
The former Inter Allies man played an important role in his time at Kotoko, his impressive display earned him a national team call-up.
Fatawu has been an integral member of Kotoko following his signing last year. He scored 10 goals to help the Porcupines to win Tier One Cup.
He was also the club’s top goal scorer in the 2019/20 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
