StarTimes Ghana launched its live telecast of the 2018/2019 UEFA Europa League yesterday in Accra.
The competition commences today,the 20th of September, 2018.Meanwhile the digital television firm acquired special broadcasting rights for the Europa League in Sub-Saharan Africa until 2021 and will be serving its cherished customers with all matches in the competition.
Addressing the media during an event held at their headquarters in Accra, the head of marketing at StarTimes Ghana, Akofa Dzankui said that the digital pay TV firm is committed to providing world-class viewing experience to its cherished customers and the Europa League is one of many great contents her outfit delivers to its customers.
When asked about why Ghanaians should be excited about the fact that StarTimes would be showing the Europa league, Akofa Dzankui said “In Ghana you know the Europa league is one of the topmost leagues in Europe and Ghanaians already do watch it and it is not new to them and so the only excitement is that it is on StarTimes, the subscription fees are low and so a lot more people can access it and watch whatever game they want to watch. All games are available on all the sports platforms on StarTimes”.
She further revealed that there is going to be commentary in the local Ghanaian language specifically in Akan.
“So for Ghanaians who enjoy listening to Twi commentary we are bringing that together with the Europa league and so if you want there are specific matches that you can get the commentary live in Twi and so if you are one such Ghanaian who enjoys the local commentary, it is available on StarTimes.”
StarTimes also has special rights for English and Portuguese commentary of the Europa League.
