John Mahama Gathers GH¢570,000 In Fundraising, Alban Bagbin And 2 Others Withdraw From Race
Former President John Mahama has raised almost GH¢600,000 in cash through the gathering pledges endeavors of a group called MPsForMahama who in the wake of focusing on 420 individuals to raise a 1000 cedis each has currently hit 570 individuals while more are still pledging.
It is expected that Mr John Dramani Mahama will file by next week.
In a related advancement, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has said he won’t be a part of a procedure that is an unmistakable instance of “create, loot and share” including that the GH¢420,000 documenting expense for flag bearer aspirants of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ground for corruption.
MyNewsGh reports that, Mr Bagbin who spoke in an interview with Valentina Ofori-Afriyie, a news anchor on Class91.3FM’s news said,”Any of us could endeavor to assemble that cash in light of the fact that certainly, you can connect with individuals who have cash to satisfy, yet I can disclose to you that is a wrong activity. He immediately included, “I am not going to be a part of that, I can guarantee you. I am not going to be a part of this sort of lavishness and show of luxury, I won’t partake in it, no!”.
John Dramani Mahama is a Ghanaian politician who served as President of Ghana from 24 July 2012 to 7 January 2017. He previously served as Vice President of Ghana from 2009 to 2012, and took office as President on 24 July 2012 following the death of his predecessor, John Atta Mills.
