200 officers deployed to tackle Fulani menace

A Joint Police and Military personnel numbering over 200 have been deployed to the Asante Akyem North and Sekyere Afram plains district of the Ashanti and Eastern Region respectively to curb the recent attacks on residents and security personnel in the area by nomadic herdsmen.

Earlier this week, three military officers and a police officer were shot and wounded by persons suspected to be nomadic herdsmen when the officers went to the bush to evict the herdsmen and their cattle.

The Joint military and police force have been tasked to  push back the herdsmen from new areas they have occupied and also arrest the perpetrators of the recent acts of violence to  augment the efforts of operation cow leg.
